PRESS RELEASE
Dave Rosner, Jewish Marine Iraq War Vet, will speak at Chabad of Oxnard Dec 7, 7:30pm as part of Chanukah Celebration.

Being a U. S. Marine can be tough. Being an observant Jew in the Marines can be much tougher. Dave Rosner describes what it’s like to wear a yarmulke while in uniform, keep kosher while stationed in Arab deserts and Korean mountains, and displayed a public menorah on a Marine Base in Hawaii. Join Dave as he shares his story and the possibility of maintaining a strong Jewish identity regardless of your surroundings.
Dave Rosner is the only Jewish Marine Comedian. “When he kills, nobody dies.” He's performed in comedy clubs, synagogues, veterans’ hospitals, and military bases. He served in the first Gulf War and in Iraq, twice, once as a Marine and once as a comedian. He now is officially telling jokes as part of his Marine Corps reserve duty to inform recently discharged Marines about their benefits and to promote their successful transition to civilian life.
His humor comes primarily from his seemingly contradictions of being a Jew from New Mexico and a Jewish Marine. He also draws from his Ba’al Teshuvah (new to observance) experiences.

He was raised in Albuquerque New Mexico and has lived in Hawaii, Israel and Australia.
